“I shall die here. Every inch of me will perish. Every inch but one. An inch… It is small, and fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us. I hope that, whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the world turns and things get better. But I hope most of all that you understand that even though I will never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you.”

Before Amy Adams was famous for her roles in Enchanted and the upcoming Muppets Movie, she had a one-off role as Tara Maclay’s (Amber Benson) bitchy cousin Beth on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Whatever.
Sometimes when I lie down on my bed after a long day, I just think back about all the memories when life was so care-free, and then snap back to reality. The reality that everythings changed and life is full of worry and struggle. Its not a game, its a war we all must fight. When I was a kid I remember I was so relaxed. I went to bed at 8 and I had a bedtime story every night. Now I barely sleep and my bedtime stories are my homework and assignments. The year is about to end and my exams are almost here. Revision has not started and I’m stressing myself out so bad. Why can’t we all just live like we lived when we were kids?

It occurred to him that what had seemed impossible before - that he had not spent his life as he should have - might, after all, be true. His professional duties and the whole arrangement of his life, of his family might all have been false.

Dear Photograph,
I was astounded, but I hadn’t had time to consider what I was seeing.
